Rodney Jane returns to Le Mans with Bob Jane T-Marts and Martinet by Almeras

Bob Jane T-Marts and Rodney Jane will make a return to Le Mans this weekend, competing the Porsche Carrera Cup support races at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe in France.

Jane will drive for leading European outfit Martinet by Almeras, marking his second appearance at Le Mans following a strong debut in 2023 where he finished fifth in class.

He will be joined on the grid by fellow Australian competitor Marc Cini, adding an extra layer of Aussie pride to the famous event.

The Bob Jane T-Marts brand needs no introduction to Le Mans. Rodney’s late father, the iconic Bob Jane, backed an ambitious Australian campaign in the 1984 24 Hours of Le Mans.

That effort featured Australian legends Peter Brock and Larry Perkins, who famously drove the orange Bob Jane T-Marts Porsche 956. The car qualified 15th and climbed as high as fifth before mechanical issues and a crash ended their dream run.

Now, four decades on, Rodney Jane is honouring that legacy by returning to the fearsome 13.6km circuit, this time at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car (992), identical to the one he races domestically in the Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship.

“I had such a great time at Le Mans two years ago, and when this late opportunity came up, I could not resist,” said Jane.

“To do it with my old mate Marc Cini as well makes it all the more special. We really enjoy our time at and away from the track.

“The Le Mans circuit is just one of the best that I’ve ever driven on. I finished fifth in class last time, so I hope to improve on that result.”

In Australia, Jane competes in the SP Tools Pro-Am class with Sonic Motor Racing Services and is a two-time Am-class Porsche champion. He currently leads the Pro-Am title in 2025, with the next event to be held at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway the week after Le Mans.

The Carrera Cup support event at Le Mans begins with practice on Wednesday (June 11), followed by further sessions and qualifying on Friday, and concludes with the feature race on Saturday, held in front of the massive crowds gathering for the 102nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
