Roller coaster start for Bob Jane T-Marts Porsches at Albert Park

Bob Jane T-Marts and its trio of Porsches hit the track for the first time in 2026, competing on the international stage at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in an event that proved to deliver mixed results.

Drivers Angelo Mouzouris, Marcos Flack and reigning Pro-Am class champion Rodney Jane returned to the Albert Park street track, keen to impress on the home soil of Bob Jane T-Marts, whose head office is based just a few kilometres away in Port Melbourne.

The opening session of the weekend proved a tough start when Flack got loose on the fresh surface and hit the unforgiving concrete.

The incident ruled him out for the event – a disappointing start to the season for the ambitious Flack.

It was left to Mouzouris to fly the T-Marts flag in the Pro class and he did so admirably. Qualifying 12th for the opening race, Mouzouris made up one position during the first 40-minute encounter before climbing to sixth in Friday’s second race.

Mouzouris continued his good form, scoring seventh in Saturday's final to end the weekend in solid fashion.

Jane’s Australian Grand Prix event got off to a great start by qualifying second in Pro-Am, but a retirement in the opening race came after he was collected by a Pro class rookie.

A superb comeback in Race 2 saw him finish right behind the class leader negated some of the disadvantage. Ultimately, a fifth place in Saturday's final ensured Jane remains in touch with the leaders.

There’s a gap until the next round at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, which is to be held on June 19-21.

“We started the weekend off on the back foot, but we managed to fight our way to seventh for the round,” said Mouzouris.

“I can’t wait to get back racing at Darwin and hopefully start the weekend off on a positive note.

“A huge thanks to my team, Bob Jane T-Marts, and my supporters for the weekend.”

“Probably a bit disappointed after the Grand Prix,” Jane reflected.

“I qualified reasonably well after not having much practice time, but I knew that I still had half a second of time to find.

“I got punted by a New Zealand rookie, which was disappointing and that put me out of the first race.

“I was chasing from all from then on, so it wasn’t my favourite weekend.

“On the bright side, there’s another six rounds to go, so we’ll skill up and try to be better in Darwin.”
