Poles and podiums for Bob Jane T-Marts on the Gold Coast

It proved a successful weekend for Bob Jane T-Marts at the penultimate round of the Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship on the streets of the Gold Coast.

Following a frustrating event at the Repco Bathurst 1000, the trio of Bob Jane T-Marts-backed Sonic Motor Racing Services-prepared Porsches were on the pace from the outset and were rewarded with some season-best results.

The Sonic Bob Jane T-Marts team was fast from the outset. Marcos Flack led the way across the weekend, scoring his maiden Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship pole position, and going on to claim two second place finishes.

His strong results during the event delivered Flack second for the round in what was the best round result of his career.

Angelo Mouzouris was right behind his team-mate in qualifying, placing just 0.019s behind Flack to confirm a Sonic Bob Jane T-Marts front-row lockout.

The euphoria of a front-row lock out for Saturday's first was was quickly squashed, though, when a Lap 2 Porsche pile-up saw the race cancelled.

In Sunday's first 45 minute enduro, Flack finished second with Mouzouris scoring a third.

Flack took another second place in the final race, but a miscued start from Mouzouris saw him drop to fifth.

For our Pro-Am title leader Rodney Jane, he will head to the final round in Adelaide under pressure to hold the class lead after rival Matt Belford’s round victory.

Jane was lucky to miss the opening race pile-up and managed to secure two third place results to finish the round on the final step of the podium.

The margin Jane holds approaching the final round in Adelaide is just seven points.

The final round of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship season will be held at the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 14-16.

“My home round is done and dusted,” Flack said.

“Huge thanks to all the boys and this is for Garry Rogers. He meant a lot to Michael and this result repays the Sonic team for all their hard work.

“The boys put their heart and soul into this team, which was demonstrated by their effort to turn around my Porsche after hitting the fence at Bathurst. To put it on the podium here was really a great thing and I was hoping for the win, but at the end of the day it was a great weekend.

“I’m excited to bring this momentum into Adelaide.”

Angelo Mouzouris

“We had a crazy amount of speed, which was awesome,” said Mouzouris.

“We qualified second for the weekend, which was cool. Race 1 got canned while we were sitting in second. Race 2 we finished third and in the last event I made a small error on the start, which dropped me back to fifth.

“It was alright. The weekend was good and I can’t wait to carry this speed into Adelaide where I want to get a podium or even a race win that the team deserves so much.”

“I came to the Gold Coast with the flu, but I was faster than last year,” recounted Jane.

“I didn’t quite have the pace I wanted and qualified fifth. I was really made to work hard from there, but in Race 1 I did miss the big bingle involving half the field.

“In the long race I finished third, which I was happy with and in the last race I repeated the result.

“It was great to see Marcos and Angelo on the front-row in the first race. They continued to do well in the second and it was disappointing Angelo didn’t make the podium, but that’s what motorsport throws at you sometimes.

“Overall, a great weekend for Bob Jane T-Marts. I’m really proud of the young guys and I’ll keep on working on what I need to for the Pro-Am Class title.”
