Bridgestone's Turanza T005 is a premium touring tyre for sedans, hatches, prestige cars and some SUVs, made for drivers who spend most of their kilometres on bitumen and want reassuring grip when the weather turns. Many owners arrive here because their car left the factory on the T005, and you can find all the T005 sizes on offer on our website, across 16 to 22-inch rims.
Engineered with rain in mind
Bridgestone developed the T005 in Europe to replace the Turanza T001, with wet performance as its main engineering target. Dense siping across the tread blocks and the spacing of grooves through the centre of the tread help clear water from the contact patch. The high-silica compound includes Bridgestone's NanoPro-Tech polymer, intended to balance wet grip with rolling efficiency and wear. Its wet braking and cornering grip were independently tested by TÜV SÜD.
Carmaker-marked and run-flat versions
A number of sizes in this range carry approval markings for BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Audi, and several are run-flat (RF) builds for cars designed to run without a spare. Where your car calls for one of these, it makes sense to match the marking on your current tyres. Run-flat and conventional tyres generally shouldn't be mixed, so check with a store if you're unsure which type you have.
Narrowing down a wide size range
With widths from 205 to 285 mm, the range stretches from compact hatches to large luxury sedans. The quickest approach is to search by your vehicle or tyre size on this page, then compare the load index and speed rating with your tyre placard. If anything is unclear, your local Bob Jane T-Marts store can check your current tyres and book in a fitting.
FAQs
Which cars suit the Bridgestone Turanza T005?
Bridgestone has supplied the T005 as original equipment on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W177 generation, launched in 2018), the Audi A7 Sportback released in 2018, and the fifth-generation Lexus LS in 245/45R20 and 275/40R20 run-flat sizes. It is also made in sizes found on popular models such as the Toyota Corolla (225/40R18), Tesla Model 3 (235/40R19), Mazda CX-5 (225/55R19), and 19-inch versions of the Toyota RAV4 and Kia Sportage (235/55R19). Sizes vary between variants, so please confirm the size on your placard before ordering.
How much do Bridgestone Turanza T005 tyres cost?
Prices start from around $248 per tyre for the 205/55R16 and go up to about $891 for the 255/35R21. Price depends on size, and current pricing is shown in the listing above. Prices include fitting and balancing.
How does the Turanza T005 handle wet roads?
Wet grip was Bridgestone's priority in this design, which suits commuting and highway driving through Australian winters and storm seasons. As a touring tyre, it isn't intended for gravel or off-road use, and drivers chasing sharper steering response may prefer a performance pattern. Bridgestone has since released the Turanza 6 as its successor, so the T005 makes most sense where it matches your car's original fitment.
