The Atto 3 badge spans current EVO and earlier tyre specifications

Searching only “BYD Atto 3 tyres” can hide a material fitment difference. BYD Australia’s current range includes the Essential at 215/60 R17 and the ATTO 3 EVO Dynamic and EVO Premium at 235/50 R18. An earlier Australian Extended Range listing records 215/55 R18. So a newer Premium advert is not evidence that it suits another Atto 3. Start with the year and grade, then use the placard on your vehicle as the deciding reference.

Front-wheel-drive Atto 3s put different work through the front pair

The current Atto 3 is front-wheel drive, so the front tyres handle both propulsion and steering. That does not predict a fixed wear pattern, but it makes the condition of the front pair worth comparing with the rear pair when it is time to replace tyres. If replacing only two, have a fitter assess the remaining pair and manufacturer advice. Keep the placard’s load index, speed rating and pressure information with the correct size; the numerical diameter alone is not a complete fitment.

For city and motorway use, the useful comparison is between compatible tyres in your exact size, rather than a broad promise about “EV tyres”. Read the product information for wet-road performance, road noise and intended use, then balance that against your own commute and trip distances. TPMS is a warning aid, not a substitute for cold-pressure checks.

BYD’s current Australian sheet lists a tyre repair kit. It does not make a damaged tyre automatically repairable, and it is not a substitute for carrying out the kit’s instructions or having a tyre assessed. Before a longer regional drive, check what is actually supplied in your car and that the kit is accessible. Older cars, dealer accessories and previous owners can change what is in the boot.

What tyre sizes are documented for the BYD Atto 3?

Current BYD Essential and ATTO 3 EVO Dynamic/Premium examples are 215/60 R17 and 235/50 R18 respectively. An earlier Australian Extended Range listing shows 215/55 R18. Confirm the exact sidewall size and ratings on your own placard before ordering.

Can I use an Essential or Premium search result for any Atto 3?

No. The current grades have different listed sizes, and earlier Extended Range vehicles can differ again. Use the rego or vehicle lookup to narrow the Bob Jane product grid, then cross-check with the tyre-size filter and placard.
