Chery E5 tyres come in two sizes: a standard 215/55R18 and an XL-rated 225/45R19. With just two choices, the detail that matters most is which load rating your wheels need.
Tyre Sizes That Fit This Collection
The factory 215/55R18 is listed first, followed by the optional 225/45R19 XL.
- 215/55R18 tyres: factory fitment, 2024 onwards

Check the door-jamb placard and the sidewall for size, load index and speed rating. The XL tyre cannot be replaced by a standard tyre where XL is specified. If you would like the sidewall read for you, visit your local Bob Jane T-Marts store.
Two sizes, two different tyres
The 215/55R18 has the taller sidewall and costs less. The 225/45R19 XL is wider with a shorter wall, so it is firmer and dearer. Both can be bought in a range of tread designs.
For quiet running and low rolling resistance, read the label on EV tyres and compare it with standard tyres. Wet grip is the rating worth the most attention.
The price gap between the two sizes is wide for such a short list, so ask the store to quote both before you choose. It takes a minute and avoids surprises at the counter.
Pairs, tread depth and age
Replace tyres in pairs on an axle where you can. A new tyre next to a worn one changes grip and braking balance.
The legal minimum tread depth is 1.5mm across the main grooves. Check the date code too, because the age of a tyre matters as much as its tread.
Use the same visit to check the spare, if your car carries one. A spare that has sat for years can lose pressure and harden even though it has never touched the road, so check its date code and pressure like the others.
