Chery E5 Urban and Ultimate share one 18-inch factory specification

For the MY25.5 Chery E5, the first tyre question has a concise answer. Chery Australia’s specification sheet, effective from May 2025 production, lists 18-inch alloy wheels and 215/55 R18 tyres. The sheet identifies both Urban and Ultimate grades, so there is no published wheel-diameter split between those two versions. That is useful when comparing products. For MY25.5, grade alone does not create a different tyre-size shortlist, so production date and original equipment are the useful checks. It is still a starting point: read the tyre placard and current sidewall for the required load index and speed rating on your own vehicle.

The E5’s full-size spare makes its fifth-wheel check practical

Chery’s MY25.5 sheet also lists a full-size spare wheel and tyre-pressure monitoring. Before a regional trip or a tyre replacement, look at the spare as well as the four road tyres. Its age, pressure and condition matter even if it has never been used. Do not assume that an apparently matching wheel proves the tyre is fit for normal service; check the supplied equipment and the owner’s information for your car. A pressure warning needs a physical inspection and pressure check, not just a reset.

The PS71 EV is an E5 OE reference, not a replacement rule

Chery names KUMHO PS71 in its MY25.5 sheet, and Kumho Australia’s original-equipment announcement describes 215/55 x18 Ecsta PS71 EV tyres on the earlier Omoda E5 across the range. That provides helpful original-equipment context. It does not require every replacement to be the same brand or pattern. A compatible alternative must first match the placard’s complete size and ratings, then suit the way you use the E5. If two tyres are being replaced on this front-wheel-drive SUV, have the fitter assess the remaining pair and advise on placement.
