The Continental ContiMaxContact MC7, sold by Continental as the MaxContact MC7, is a summer sport performance tyre for passenger cars. It is aimed at drivers who want precise steering and strong braking for spirited road driving, without giving up a reasonably quiet cabin on the daily commute. Find all the MaxContact MC7 sizes on offer on our website, from 16-inch hatch fitments through to 21-inch sizes for larger performance cars.
Grip through the corners
Continental uses what it calls Cornering Macro-blocks in the tread. As the car turns in, these blocks enlarge the area of rubber touching the road, spreading the load across the tyre for steadier handling. They are paired with the ReFlex Compound, a stiffer rubber blend chosen to sharpen steering response and to provide grip on both wet and dry bitumen.
Sipes that slice through water
For wet roads, the MC7 has 3D laser-cut sipes in three shapes, named Star, Lightning and Aqua. They cut through the water film from several angles so the tread can stay in contact with the surface. Continental also shapes the grooves with its Noise Break 3.0 design, which breaks up road noise before it reaches the cabin.
A wide spread of low-profile sizes
Every MC7 size is low profile, from 50-series down to 30-series, and most carry an extra load (XL) rating. A few sizes are marked for electric vehicles, and wide fitments up to 315/30R21 cover staggered setups on rear-drive performance cars. Narrow the list with the vehicle or tyre size search on this page, then book fitting at your local Bob Jane T-Marts.
FAQs
Which cars suit the Continental ContiMaxContact MC7?
The MC7 comes in factory sizes used on the Tesla Model 3 with 19-inch wheels (235/40R19), the current Honda Civic VTi-LX (235/40R18), the Hyundai i30 N Line hatch (225/40R18) and the Toyota Camry SX of the previous generation (235/40R19). The larger 20 and 21-inch sizes suit performance sedans and coupes. Check your tyre placard or ask a store to confirm the right size before you order.
How much do Continental ContiMaxContact MC7 tyres cost?
MaxContact MC7 tyres start from around $210 per tyre for the 225/45R17 and go up to about $626 for the 285/35R20. Price depends on size, and current pricing for each size is shown in the listing above. Prices include fitting and balancing.
Is the MaxContact MC7 comfortable enough for daily driving?
For most drivers, yes. The Noise Break 3.0 groove design is aimed at keeping cabin noise down, and the tyre is designed to stay composed on wet and dry roads alike. The trade-off is that a low-profile tyre with a stiffer compound passes more of the road surface through to the cabin than a touring tyre, especially on 19 to 21-inch wheels. It is also a summer tyre, so it is not intended for snow or ice.
