Continental designed the PremiumContact 6 to replace two earlier ranges, the ContiPremiumContact 5 and the ContiSportContact 5, combining touring comfort and sportier handling in one product. Its Safety Silica Compound is aimed at consistent grip on wet and dry roads, and an abrasion-resistant polymer blend helps the tread wear evenly over time.

Macro-blocks for stability at speed

The shoulder design is carried over from Continental's SportContact 6, using long macro-blocks that support each other for extra grip and cornering stability, even at higher speeds. An asymmetric rib layout helps transfer cornering forces, while an optimised contact surface and tread stiffness reduce interior noise. Continental also quoted lower exterior noise than the outgoing tyre.

Run-flats and carmaker-marked versions

Run-flat (SSR) versions for cars that leave the factory without a spare wheel
Sizes carrying BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi or Volvo markings, built to that carmaker's specification
