Dirty Life wheels are built for serious off-road setups, and about four in five of the 290 wheels here are 17-inch. Prices start from $270.
Dirty Life designs
- Dual Tek DT1, DT3 and DT4: machined, matte black, dark matte bronze or gloss metallic graphite, some with a black ring.
- Mesa Race: matte black or machined.
- Roadkill and Roadkill Race: chunky designs for a trail-ready look.
- Enigma Pro and Canyon Pro: complete the range.
Most finishes are matte, which hides trail dust better than gloss.
Bolt patterns and vehicles
- 6x139.7: the most common pattern, for HiLux, Ranger and D-MAX.
- 5x150: the LandCruiser 70 and 200 Series.
- 6x114.3: the Nissan Navara (D23 and D40).
- 5x127 and 5x139.7: Jeeps and some older trucks.
- Eight-stud: a small number for heavy-duty pickups.
Why most Dirty Life wheels are 17-inch
17 inches gives you the widest choice of mud-terrain and all-terrain tyres. The taller sidewall lets you air down on sand and rocks. There are some 15, 16, 18 and 20-inch options too.
Before you buy
- Plan your tyre size first. A taller off-road tyre may need a lift to clear.
- Check the offset. A wider stance can need guard flares to keep the tyre covered.
- Compare the load rating with your fully loaded touring weight.
- Carry a spare on a matching wheel so you can rotate all five.
- Use a good deflator and gauge so all four tyres sit at the same pressure.
Airing down safely
Lower pressures give a longer footprint and better grip on sand. Drop pressure gradually and drive slowly, because soft tyres build heat.
Reinflate before you return to bitumen. A 17-inch wheel with a tall sidewall handles low pressures better than a 20.
Dual Tek, Mesa Race or Roadkill?
Dual Tek has the most finishes, so it suits owners matching a vehicle colour. Mesa Race keeps it simple in matte black or machined, and Roadkill gives a chunkier look.
Common questions
Are Dirty Life wheels good for sand?
Yes, especially the 17-inch sizes. More sidewall gives you more room to lower pressures safely.
Which brands compare?
See Black Rhino and Fuel, or browse all 17-inch wheels. Your local Bob Jane T-Marts store can match a set to your 4x4.
Do Dirty Life wheels fit a Navara (D23 and D40)?
Yes, a selection comes in 6x114.3, the Navara (D23 and D40) pattern. Check the offset and bore for your model.
Are matte finishes harder to clean?
Not really. Use a soft brush and skip waxes or polishes, which can leave matte paint patchy.
