Everest grades now span 17-inch touring hardware to 21-inch Platinum wheels
A current Ford Everest is not one wheel-and-tyre package. Ford Australia’s 2025.25/2025.50MY specification sheet lists 17-inch all-season wheels for Ambiente, 18-inch all-season for Trend, 20-inch all-season for Sport, 17-inch General Grabber all-terrain tyres for Tremor and 21-inch all-season wheels for Platinum. That spread matters before comparing tyre patterns or prices: start with your grade, model year and the size printed on its placard.
Ford names the wheel packages rather than a complete size table. Read your full sidewall marking, then use the placard as the final reference.
The Tremor’s General Grabber A/T brief is different from Sport’s 20-inch road-led setup
The Tremor arrives with 17-inch General Grabber A/T tyres and Ford’s off-road suspension, while Sport is specified with 20-inch all-season wheels. That does not make one automatically better; it makes their starting compromises different. A Tremor that regularly sees gravel, tracks or rough access roads may justify another compatible all-terrain pattern. A Sport used mainly for school runs, motorway touring and wet sealed roads may put more value on road manners and noise.
Match the tyre to the Everest’s actual work. When towing or travelling loaded, check the placard ratings and the vehicle’s axle, GVM and GCM limits; tyre load capacity is not an afterthought. Ford lists a 3,500kg maximum braked towing capacity for the current range, subject to its conditions and regulations. It is sensible to inspect wear and set pressures before a loaded trip rather than changing to a more aggressive tread as a substitute for correct setup.
Towing and four-wheel-drive consistency set the replacement rules
Ford says that on AWD/4WD vehicles all four tyres should be the same size, type, brand and model, with rotation at the recommended interval. If the remaining tyres are significantly worn, or a matching tyre cannot be obtained, Ford advises replacing all four. That is particularly relevant when only one Everest tyre is damaged: confirm the condition and specification of the other three before ordering a single replacement.
Use Bob Jane’s rego or vehicle lookup to narrow the product grid, then cross-check using the complete tyre-size marking. If the vehicle has an accessory wheel package, the lookup and placard do not agree, or you are fitting after-market wheels, pause for fitter advice before purchase.
Ford Everest fitment questions
Does Ford Everest tyre fitment change by grade?
Yes. Ford’s current range has factory 17-, 18-, 20- and 21-inch wheel equipment, depending on grade. Confirm the actual tyre size on your placard.
Does every Everest need all-terrain tyres?
No. Tremor is supplied with General Grabber A/T tyres, but a highway-led Everest may be better served by a compatible road-focused choice.
Can I change the wheel or tyre size?
Ford’s guidance sets a 15mm placard-based passenger-vehicle limit and requires compliant load and speed ratings, but state rules, clearance and wheel specifications still apply.
