Hankook developed the Vantra LT (RA18) as a commercial van tyre built for operators who need durability, long service and stable handling from their vehicles. It suits delivery vans, trade vans and fleet vehicles that cover plenty of sealed-road kilometres, often with a full load on board. A squarer footprint for longer service

Hankook gives the RA18 a larger, squared-off tread profile and a hard-wearing compound that uses advanced fillers and flexible rubber materials, and says the combination improves mileage over the previous model. The square contact patch is also designed to improve durability. Inside the tyre, slim bead fillers reduce stress around the bead area, and foldable tape wrapped around the edge of the lower steel belt supports belt durability and stability at highway speeds.

Wet-road control for working vans

Straighter longitudinal grooves move water out of the tread to raise resistance to aquaplaning, and Hankook reports shorter wet braking distances than the tyre it replaced. The position of those grooves is also tuned to shape the contact patch for stability in corners, which helps when a loaded van changes direction.

Sizes for small and large vans

Every size here is a light truck or C-rated fitment, from the 155R13C up to the 235/65R16C. Larger sizes such as the 215/65R16C suit mid-size vans, while the 13- and 14-inch sizes cover older small vans and light commercials. The Vantra LT is designed for vans and light commercial vehicles. Sizes here match the Ford Transit (235/65R16C), the Renault Trafic and Ford Transit Custom (215/65R16C) and the Hyundai iLoad (215/70R16C). Hankook also lists Ford as an original equipment customer for the 235/65R16C, although it does not name the model. It is worth checking the size and load rating on your tyre placard, or asking a store, before you place an order.
