KONA Electric’s 17-inch and 19-inch grades cannot share one replacement size
Hyundai’s current MY27 KONA Electric sheet does not give the range one universal tyre. The entry KONA grade has 17 x 7.0J wheels with 215/60R17 96H tyres. KONA Elite, Premium and Premium + N Line move to 19 x 7.5J wheels with 235/45R19 99V tyres.
That is a meaningful difference in rim diameter, width, profile, load index and speed rating. Use those as current-model reference points, not as permission to move a tyre between grades. Begin with a Hyundai KONA Electric rego result, then check the driver-door placard and every element of the existing tyre’s sidewall before choosing from compatible products.
An older EV, or a Hybrid KONA, is a different lookup
The word “KONA” is unusually easy to over-generalise. Hyundai’s earlier official KONA EV sheet lists 215/55R17 94V for Elite and Highlander, while the current KONA Hybrid page identifies 18-inch alloy wheels. A generic KONA search can therefore surface a result for a different generation or powertrain. It is not evidence for the vehicle in the driveway.
Even when a number looks familiar, compare the full placard requirement rather than only the rim diameter. A current KONA Electric Elite’s 235/45R19 needs its 99V specification checked; an earlier EV’s 215/55R17 should not be ordered as the current entry grade’s 215/60R17. If the rego lookup, placard and tyres fitted to the car do not agree, stop and confirm the owner’s manual or ask a qualified fitter.
The KONA Electric’s temporary spare is not a road-tyre specification
Hyundai lists a T135/90D17 104M temporary space saver for the current KONA Electric range. That compact spare is for temporary use only; it does not establish the normal replacement size for a 17- or 19-inch road wheel. Keep it separate from the four matching tyres when inspecting the car or reading a tyre-size filter.
For a routine replacement, use Bob Jane’s rego or vehicle lookup to narrow the product grid, then cross-check with the tyre-size filter. Check the tyre placard, current markings and owner’s manual as needed. If aftermarket wheels have been fitted, the vehicle has a warning light, or the wear pattern is uneven, have the fitment assessed before ordering.
