The Kia EV6 is an all-electric crossover used for everything from the daily commute to long highway trips between chargers. That asks more of its tyres than a petrol car of a similar size: they carry the weight of a large battery, handle strong torque from a standstill and affect both driving range and cabin noise. Factory tyre sizes for the EV6

Each EV6 grade has its own wheel and tyre package, and the Air and GT-Line sizes are unchanged from the 2022 launch models to current cars:

Air: 235/55R19
GT-Line: 255/45R20
GT: 255/40R21

A tyre that suits one grade may not match another, and a used EV6 may have different wheels from the ones it left the factory with. The tyre placard on the driver's door jamb is the final word on size, load index and speed rating.

Choosing tyres for how you use your EV6

Most owners want a quiet, comfortable tyre that grips well in the wet and helps protect range. For the Air's 19-inch wheels, compare the Michelin E Primacy or the Kumho Ecsta PS71, which comes in EV-labelled versions in both 235/55R19 and 255/45R20. If you drive a GT-Line or GT and want more grip and sharper response, the Michelin Pilot Sport EV is made in 255/45R20 and 255/40R21.

Some tyres are marketed with electric vehicles in mind, but that label is not a substitute for the correct size and required ratings. Nor does it promise a particular change in range or tyre life on your vehicle. Read the product details, then weigh comfort, noise, grip and price against your own priorities. Weight, wear and alignment on an EV

A heavy battery and instant acceleration can wear tyres faster than many owners expect. Check pressures regularly against the placard, rotate the tyres at each service if the wear pattern allows, and never fit a tyre with a lower load index than your placard specifies. Many tyres in EV6 sizes are extra load (XL) rated for that reason. If the inside or outside edges are wearing faster than the centre, book a wheel alignment when you replace them. On dual-motor versions, keep the tread depth even across all four tyres.
