MY26 EV6 grades spread one model across 19-, 20- and 21-inch tyres
Kia’s current EV6 range is not one tyre fitment. The MY26 specification sheet lists four Australian variants and three wheel-and-tyre combinations:
- EV6 Air RWD: 235/55R19 on 19-inch wheels.
- EV6 GT-Line RWD and GT-Line AWD: 255/45R20 on 20-inch wheels.
- EV6 GT AWD: 255/40R21 on 21-inch wheels.
That is why an EV6 rego result, rather than the model name alone, should start the replacement search. These sizes are documented current-model examples, not an upgrade menu. Check the driver-door placard and complete sidewall marking on your own EV6, including its load index and speed rating.
A GT-Line is not a GT fitment
The GT-Line and GT are easy to blur together in an online search, but Kia separates them clearly. Both GT-Line versions have 20-inch 255/45R20 tyres; the GT AWD has 21-inch 255/40R21 tyres. A wheel diameter is only part of the fitment: the width, profile, load and speed specifications also need to match the vehicle.
If the car is an Air, do not order a GT-Line or GT size because it looks more performance-focused. Likewise, a GT owner should not reduce the decision to ‘EV6 21-inch tyres’ without confirming the full marking. The correct compatible tyre lets the vehicle retain the fitment Kia specified for that grade, rather than borrowing a package from another EV6.
EV6 range and towing figures make trip preparation a tyre question
Kia publishes a 582km combined WLTP figure for the Air RWD and 450km for the GT AWD; actual range depends on configuration, driving and conditions. Kia also lists up to 1,800kg braked towing capacity for the MY26 range, subject to state regulations and towbar design. Before a long trip or tow, check tyres for damage, uneven wear and cold pressures against the placard. The load on departure can be very different from a solo commute.
Use Bob Jane’s rego or vehicle lookup to narrow the product grid, then use the tyre-size filter as a cross-check. If your EV6 has aftermarket wheels, an unfamiliar tyre marking or a result that conflicts with the placard, confirm the owner’s manual or speak with a qualified fitter before ordering.
Kia EV6 grade and tyre questions
What tyre size does a MY26 Kia EV6 use?
Current Australian examples range from 235/55R19 on Air RWD to 255/40R21 on GT AWD. GT-Line RWD and AWD use 255/45R20.
Do all current EV6 grades use the same tyre size?
No. Kia’s MY26 grade table has three distinct sizes across its four variants.
Can an EV6 Air use GT-Line or GT tyres?
Do not treat another grade’s tyre as a direct substitute. Confirm the exact placard fitment and obtain fitter advice before changing size or wheels.
