Kumho's Road Venture AT51 is an all-terrain tyre for 4WDs, utes and SUVs that do most of their driving on bitumen but regularly head down gravel roads, farm tracks and dirt trails. Kumho designs it around a 70/30 split between sealed roads and off-road driving. Find all the Road Venture AT51 sizes on offer on our website, from 15-inch to 17-inch, including two flotation sizes.
Tread features for loose surfaces
The AT51 uses an asymmetric tread with a full-depth zigzag groove running around the tyre, backed by multiple lateral grooves and sipes for grip on and off the road. A dual-pitch centre block adds stiffness and off-road traction, and Kumho has widened the blocks to increase the contact area. A stone-ejector bar helps stop gravel lodging in the grooves, while chamfered C-cut edges on the blocks give extra bite.
Construction for tougher work
Kumho builds the AT51 with a high-stiffness cap ply and bead wrapping to strengthen the belt and bead areas, paired with a compound designed to resist cuts and chips on sharp gravel and rock. Most of the sizes we list are light truck builds with dual load indexes, suited to utes and 4WDs that carry gear or tow. The 215R15 and 225/65R17 are XL builds for lighter vehicles.

Yes, that is what its road-biased design is for. It is meant to feel settled at highway speeds while still handling weekend gravel and dirt. The trade-off is that light truck sizes ride more firmly and make more tread noise than a highway tyre. If you rarely leave the bitumen, a highway pattern may be quieter, and for regular deep mud a mud-terrain is more capable.
