GLC owners need a tyre that keeps the car quiet and composed, matches any Mercedes approval mark and fits each axle correctly. Check the markings below before you compare brands.
Mercedes tyre markings explained
- MO means the tyre was developed and approved for Mercedes-Benz. It is the closest match to factory feel.
- MOE marks an approved run-flat. If your GLC has no spare, stay with run-flats and browse run-flat tyres.
- MO1 appears on tyres approved for some AMG models.
Which tyre suits your GLC
- Wagon and Coupé daily drivers suit premium touring tyres from Michelin, Continental or Pirelli.
- AMG versions need higher speed ratings and grippier compounds, found in sport and performance tyres.
- Plug-in hybrids carry extra battery weight, so the load index matters. Compare EV tyres.
Before you buy
- Staggered sizes. Some GLCs run wider rear tyres. Check front and rear separately, because staggered sets can't swap axles.
- Speed rating. Match or exceed the original tyre.
- Run-flat or conventional. Switching away from run-flats needs a plan for punctures.
- Axle pairs. Replace tyres on the same axle together.
- Load index. Meet or beat the placard, especially on plug-in hybrids.
Finding the right size
The GLC's tyre placard is on the driver's door pillar, and the size is on each sidewall. Search by rego, then confirm both axles before ordering.
If the placard lists optional sizes, the store can show which ones suit your wheels.
Caring for GLC tyres
- Check pressures monthly with a gauge, because run-flats can look normal even when low.
- Rotate only where front and rear sizes are the same.
- Book an alignment after a kerb strike, because premium tyres are costly to wear out early.
GLC tyre prices online include fitting, wheel balancing, tubeless valves, disposal of the removed tyres and GST. A Bob Jane T-Marts store can read the markings on your current tyres for you.

Common questions
Do I have to fit MO tyres?
No, but it is the safest way to keep the factory feel. A tyre without the mark is legal if its size, load index and speed rating are correct.
Can I swap run-flats for normal tyres?
You can, if you carry a spare or repair kit and your car allows it. Ask the store to check the tyre pressure monitoring and your setup first.
Why do my rear tyres wear faster?
Rear-biased drive and wider rear tyres often wear quicker. Check depth at each service and budget for rear pairs more often.
