PDW is a ute and 4x4 specialist: three-quarters of its 340 wheels here are 6x139.7 for the HiLux, Ranger, D-MAX and BT-50. Prices start from $121.
PDW alloys
- Brutal: satin black, silver machined, satin bronze, or gloss black with a black tint.
- Riot: satin black or silver machined.
- Dominator: silver machined, satin black or tough black.
- Invader, Slayer and Beast: more designs for a tougher look.
- Beast HD: a raw mirror machined finish that stands out.
PDW steel wheels
Around 40 PDW Steel Wheels are listed, including the Outback and D-Outback in black. Choose steel for work utes and remote touring, where a bent wheel can often be straightened. Steel also makes a sensible matching spare under the tray.
Sizes and other fitments
17-inch is by far the most common PDW size, followed by 18-inch, with some 16 and 20-inch wheels. That suits a HiLux or BT-50 running all-terrain tyres.
There is also a selection in 5x150 for the LandCruiser and 6x114.3 for the Navara (D23 and D40).
Before you buy
- Lifting your ute or fitting bigger tyres? Ask for a clearance check first.
- Check the load rating per wheel if you run a canopy, drawers or a caravan.
- Confirm the offset, because some PDW fitments sit wider than factory.
- Match your new tyre size to keep the speedo accurate.
- Swapping from steel to alloy? Check whether you need different wheel nuts.
Choosing a PDW style
The Brutal is the most flexible choice, with four finishes that suit work and weekend utes. The Dominator's tough black finish hides scratches from scrub.
The Beast HD's mirror finish is the showpiece, but it needs regular polishing to stay bright. If you want steel strength, the black Outback keeps the price down.
Matching tyres
Most 17-inch PDW fitments suit the common all-terrain sizes for dual-cabs. Keep the overall diameter close to factory unless you are lifting the ute.
Common questions
Alloy or steel for touring?
Alloy is lighter and comes in more styles. Steel is heavier but easier to repair on a remote track.
What should I compare PDW with?
Look at Monster and King Offroad, or browse 17-inch wheels and every 4x4 wheel. Your nearest Bob Jane T-Marts can help.
Do PDW wheels fit the BT-50?
Yes. The BT-50 uses 6x139.7, the main PDW pattern, so check the offset for your model year.
Can I get a matching spare?
Yes. Order a fifth wheel so you can rotate all five tyres.
