The MY26 bZ4X splits its tyre answer between 18-inch 2WD and 20-inch AWD
‘Toyota bZ4X tyre size’ now needs a drivetrain answer. The current Australian 2WD has 18-inch alloy wheels, while the current AWD has 20-inch alloy wheels. Current Australian specification records give the corresponding fitment examples as 235/60R18 for the 2WD Base and 235/50R20 for the AWD Base.
Those figures are useful for identifying the current range, not for ordering from a model name alone. They differ by one wheel diameter and by tyre profile, so an AWD result cannot validate a 2WD car. Start with the rego, then read the driver-door placard and full sidewall marking, including the load and speed rating.
January 2026 production is a bZ4X fitment breakpoint
Toyota notes that bZ4Xs built from January 2026 may have updated specifications. This is particularly important for a model with an earlier 20-inch fitment history and a current 18-inch 2WD option. An older vehicle, a late-2025-delivered vehicle and a current 2WD should not be grouped simply because the badge says bZ4X.
If a search result, current tyres and placard disagree, do not assume the latest size has been retrofitted correctly. Confirm the build/year information in the owner’s material or with a qualified fitter. The tyre repair kit supplied on current versions is also a reminder to inspect the actual tyres regularly rather than relying on a spare as the fallback plan.
Touring adds another 20-inch bZ4X, not a universal tyre shortcut
Toyota’s bZ4X Touring is a separate AWD model and its current page specifies 20-inch wheels with 235/50R20 tyres. Toyota publishes 488km WLTP range and 1,500kg braked towing for Touring; the regular AWD is listed at up to 517km and 1,500kg, while 2WD is up to 591km with a 750kg maximum towing figure. These are useful trip-planning distinctions, not claims about every bZ4X.
Before towing or a fully loaded journey, check cold pressures and the placard ratings, then consider passengers, cargo and tow-ball load together. Use Bob Jane’s rego or vehicle lookup to narrow the product grid and the tyre-size filter as a second check. Where the vehicle has aftermarket wheels or the fitment is unclear, obtain advice before ordering.
Toyota bZ4X generation and drivetrain questions
What tyre size does a current Toyota bZ4X use?
Current Australian examples are 235/60R18 for 2WD and 235/50R20 for AWD. Confirm the placard on your vehicle.
Does the bZ4X Touring use the same tyre size as AWD?
Toyota specifies 235/50R20 for the current Touring, the same current numeric example as AWD Base. Rego and placard confirmation still apply.
Should an earlier bZ4X be selected by year?
Yes. Toyota flags specification changes from January 2026 production, so use the vehicle year and rego result rather than a generic bZ4X search.
