TSW makes sporty alloys for performance-minded sedans and hatches, with 82 wheels from $275 in 17 to 20-inch sizes. Many designs are named after race circuits, such as Bathurst, Sebring and Daytona.
Popular designs
- Lasarthe: gloss black machined or gloss silver machined. The most widely stocked TSW here.
- Daytona: gloss black or gloss silver.
- Slipstream and Goodwood: silver with a machined face, hyper silver or matte black.
- Bathurst and Sebring: gloss gunmetal, matte black and mirror-cut silver.
Which cars TSW suits
- 5x112: almost half the range. Fits most current Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes-Benz models.
- 5x114.3: much of the rest. Covers a long list of Japanese and Korean cars.
- Offsets of +20 to +45: typical of modern front-engine cars.
Before you buy
- Centre bore. TSW bores such as 72.6 mm and 76.1 mm are made to fit many cars. They're often larger than your hub, so use hub-centric rings.
- Brake clearance. Performance models with big brakes need enough room behind the spokes. Check the listing or ask in store.
- Tyre profile. Going up a size means a lower-profile tyre to keep the overall diameter.
- Wheel nuts or bolts. European cars often use bolts with a specific seat. The wrong seat can loosen.
Getting the size right
- Staggered fitments. Some rear-wheel-drive cars run wider wheels at the back. Order front and rear sizes together.
- Tyre choice. A larger wheel means a lower-profile tyre. Look for one with the right load index, as many need XL.
- Pressure sensors. Most late-model cars have tyre pressure sensors. Ask about moving or replacing them when the wheels go on.
- Brake dust. Machined and silver faces show dust quickly. Regular washing keeps them sharp.
If you're not sure of your bolt pattern, check the owner's manual or the old wheel.
Common questions
Why do I need hub-centric rings?
They fill the gap between a large centre bore and your hub. That keeps the wheel centred and helps prevent vibration at highway speed.
Will a 19-inch TSW ride harder?
A little, because the tyre sidewall is shorter. Choosing a comfort-focused tyre in the new size helps.
Will TSW wheels fit a Mercedes-Benz?
Many will, because almost half the range is 5x112. Check the offset and bore, and use bolts with the right seat for your car.
