Shortlist a brand by what it does best, then compare two or three in your size. We stock more than 8,400 tyres across premium, mid-range and value brands, from $79.
Premium brands
- Michelin: more than 1,200 tyres, from Primacy touring to Pilot Sport performance, with a long list of carmaker approvals.
- Bridgestone: Turanza for comfort, Potenza for performance, Ecopia for efficiency and Dueler for 4x4s.
- Pirelli: more than 1,100 tyres, strong on prestige and performance fitments with P Zero, plus Cinturato and Scorpion.
- Continental: known for comfort and wet braking, with many European carmaker approvals.
Broad ranges and 4x4 specialists
- Yokohama: our largest single range, from Advan sport tyres to Geolandar 4x4 tyres.
- Kumho and Hankook: large ranges at mid-market prices, including EV-focused lines.
- BFGoodrich, Maxxis and Falken: favourites with ute and 4x4 owners for all-terrain and mud-terrain tyres.
Value brands
Radar, RoadX and Tracmax have the lowest entry prices, starting from $79. They suit low-kilometre cars and drivers who replace tyres often.
How to compare brands fairly
- Same specification. Compare the same size, load index and speed rating.
- Model, not logo. A brand's touring tyre and its track tyre are very different products.
- Cost per kilometre. Weigh tread life and wet-road information against price over the distance you drive.
- Approvals. On European cars, a matching carmaker mark can matter more than the brand.

Whatever brand you choose, the price includes fitting, balancing, valves, disposal of your old tyres and GST. The team at your nearest Bob Jane T-Marts store fits them all and can compare them for you.
Brands for specific jobs
- Electric cars: Michelin e.Primacy and Hankook iON are designed around EV weight and range.
- Vans: Michelin Agilis and Kumho PorTran are built for load and high kilometres.
- 4x4 touring: BFGoodrich KO3 and Yokohama Geolandar all-terrains are common picks.
- Performance cars: Pirelli P Zero and Michelin Pilot Sport cover most prestige fitments.
Common questions
Is a premium brand always the better buy?
No. The right model for your driving matters more than the badge. A premium track tyre is a poor choice for a family car.
Do value brands suit long trips?
Many do, if the size and ratings match your placard. Check the load index carefully before towing or touring.
Which brand lasts longest?
It depends on the model and how you drive, not the brand alone. Compare treadwear details for tyres in your size.
