Rodney Jane claims Carrera Cup Pro-Am title in Adelaide

Bob Jane T-Marts and Team Sonic have ended the 2025 Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship in winning fashion with Rodney Jane securing the Pro-Am crown on the streets of Adelaide.

And not only did Jane secure the title, but he did it in style by winning the round.

Jane came out on top in a tight fight for the Pro-Am honours which was set-up perfectly when he scored pole position on Friday – his first since returning to the category.

In Friday's first race, rain began to fall when the field gridded up as Jane negotiated the treacherous conditions on slick tyres.

While trying to avoid an incident, Jane collected the wall exiting the opening chicane, but he managed to get through the opening laps before pitting to fit wet rubber. A shortened race led to half points, where he claim fourth place.

Saturday’s race provided much more success. The #77 T-Marts Porsche greeted the flag in first place, bolstering his chances. And despite finishing second to his main rival in the finale, Jane had done enough to seal the Pro-Am crown by 10 points.

As for Mouzouris, he ended the season strongly to walk away with third for the round – his first podium result in the category.

The gamble on slicks for Mouzouris was disadvantageous as the combination of pitting late and a shortened race resulted in 11th place.

In Races 2 and 3, Mouzouris was able to secure two thirds to finish the round on the podium, to claim sixth in the standings.

Marcos Flack sported a ‘super fast’ livery for the event, representing the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Flack finished eighth in the shortened opener before backing up with fifth and sixth in the final two races to end the season seventh in the championship.

“What a round,” said Jane.

“My first two poles for the year, well for the last three years actually since I've been back. I then ultimately took the round win and we won the championship, so a really great weekend.

“Tale of many stories. It was pretty tough on Friday and we qualified well, so I was really happy with qualifying. The guys had the car set-up really well.

“Race 1 is a mess up show. It was a long race and we really messed up the tyre strategy. Us, of all people, messing up the tyre strategy pretty bad, it shows the importance of tyres! We went out on slicks, then it started raining and we should have come in for rains, but didn't and we finished fourth.

“The second race was all of one and a half laps, but we finished that one first.

“At least we got some racing in Race 3. I started on pole and finished second. Matty (Belford) was fast). I had to drive a bit defensively to keep it all together to win the championship and ultimately won the round.

“Special thanks to Penny, my wife, who keeps everything going when I'm away and looks after our four kids.

“Also to Sonic, Michael and Maria, what an awesome job. They run a great race team having been with them for 21 years this year. Thanks to Ray, Scotty, all the boys on the car, Dylan who makes it happen all year round, Kim, my cousin who comes here, keeps me sane and keeps me focused. The team got me here, I was just lucky enough to drive and really happy to win the championship, but I couldn't have done it without everyone that makes it happen.

“The young guys, Ange and Marcus, have given me tips all year round.

“I’m just really grateful to everyone that makes it happen and gets me in a position where I can be here

“Finally,It’s awesome for Bob Jane T-Marts, all the franchisees across Australia, Monster Wheels, and everyone that made it happen for us.”

“That's a wrap for 2025 and to say we ended the year on a high is an understatement,” Mouzouris reacted.

“We worked so hard and I can't thank the team enough. Bob Jane T-Marts, 4 Cabling and all my sponsors, it has been insane to finally put a weekend together.

“Race 1 didn't go to plan. We made the wrong call with strategy, but to bring it back for a podium for the team and to win the championship with Rod, there’s a lot of emotion.

“It’s been six years since I stepped up on the podium. It's been a massive grind, and a lot of hard work has gone into it, so it's pretty cool to finally get a result

“I can't wait for next year to see what the future entails, but if we can pick up where we left off, it'd be a pretty crazy experience.”

“Season over now and thanks to everyone at Sonic for all their hard work this year,” said Flack.

It's great to try and do as much as I can with Rod this year, which has paid off. He won the championship and we finished second in the teams' title.

“This was a pretty good weekend, we've had a fifth, a sixth in the last race even with some damage,

“Two podiums for myself this season, so I'm happy with the year.

“Huge thanks to Sonic and we'll see what we do next year.

“We’ll try and push forward.”
