Auscar alloys give sedans, hatches and small SUVs a fresh look, with 42 wheels from $199 in 15 to 18-inch sizes. A few 4x4-style fitments are in the mix too.
Four designs
- Circuit: diamond black or black machined, and the most widely stocked Auscar here.
- Vortex: gloss black or titanium, from 16 to 18 inches.
- RSpec: gloss black, including the 4x4 fitments.
- Evo: black machined.
Bolt patterns and the cars they fit
- 5x114.3: the most common pattern here, used on many Japanese and Korean cars.
- 5x100: the Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ and many older Subarus.
- 5x112 and 4x100: European cars and older small cars.
- Dual-drilled 10x100-114.3 and 8x100-114.3: one wheel suits two patterns.
Dual-drilled wheels explained
A dual-drilled wheel has two sets of stud holes. It's handy if you're unsure of your pattern or plan to change cars.
You still need the right centre bore and wheel nuts for your car. Hub-centric rings help where the bore is larger than your hub.
Before you buy
- Offset. Auscar offsets of +35 to +42 suit most front-wheel-drive cars.
- Tyre size. Moving up a diameter means a lower-profile tyre to keep the overall size.
- Nuts and seats. Aftermarket wheels may need different nuts from your factory set.
- Load rating. Check it if you carry heavy loads in a small SUV.
Tips for all-wheel-drive cars
Many Subarus and other AWD cars are sensitive to tyre size. A mismatch can strain the drivetrain.
- Same size on all four. Fit the same tyre size and model to every wheel.
- Similar tread depth. Replace tyres as a set where possible, so they all turn at the same speed.
- Keep the diameter. When changing wheel size, match the overall diameter of your factory tyres.
If one tyre is damaged early, ask your store whether the others are close enough in tread depth to keep.
Common questions
Are Auscar wheels a good budget option?
Yes for everyday cars. Prices start at $199, and the sizes cover most sedans, hatches and small SUVs.
Will they fit a Subaru?
Many will, as Auscar stocks 5x100 and 5x114.3 wheels. If you drive a Forester, see Subaru Forester tyres too.
Will Auscar wheels fit a 4x4?
A few will. The RSpec includes 4x4 fitments, but most of the range is made for cars and small SUVs. Check the pattern and load rating first.
