The BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 was designed as a mud-terrain tyre for serious four-wheel drivers who regularly tackle boggy tracks, rock steps, rutted climbs and soft beach exits. It suits enthusiasts with built 4WDs and working utes that need off-road traction ahead of on-road refinement. Find all the KM3 sizes on offer on our website, from 14-inch through to 22-inch, including LT-metric, older numeric sizes and tall flotation options up to 39 inches.
Terrain-Attack tread for mud and loose ground
BFGoodrich's Terrain-Attack tread design uses large, widely spaced blocks to dig into mud and loose surfaces. Between them, Mud-Phobic bars are designed to push out compacted mud so the tread can keep finding grip instead of packing up. In the brand's own testing, the KM3 improved on its KM2 predecessor in mud traction.
Grip on rock, even when aired down
Rock work is a big part of the KM3's brief. BFGoodrich designed it to hold onto rocks and rubble, including at the lower pressures many drivers run on technical tracks in the High Country or on rocky coastal climbs. The design draws on the brand's Baja desert racing history.
Sidewalls built to take a hit
Tougher sidewalls are designed to resist punctures and cuts when the tyre flexes over sharp edges, and BFGoodrich reports better puncture resistance than the KM2 in its own testing. The range also includes a small group of 14-inch sizes, some carrying a Porsche marking in the product title, so read each listing carefully. Search by vehicle or tyre size on this page, then book fitting at your local Bob Jane T-Marts store so the team can check load rating and pressures.
FAQs
Which cars suit the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3?
Sizes listed match the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series (7.50R16 and 265/70R16), Toyota HiLux (265/65R17), Toyota Prado (265/65R17) and Ford Ranger Raptor (285/70R17). Flotation sizes such as 33x12.5R15 and 35x12.5R17 suit lifted 4WDs. Check your tyre placard or ask a store to confirm the right size and any modification requirements before you order.
How much do BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tyres cost?
KM3 tyres start from around $386 per tyre for the 28x9R14 and go up to about $923 for the 37x13.5R22. Price depends on size, and current pricing for each size is shown in the listing above. Prices include fitting and balancing.
Is the KM3 practical for highway driving?
Plenty of owners drive on it every day, but the aggressive tread and heavy construction bring more road noise and a firmer ride, and wet-road grip is generally not as strong as a highway or all-terrain tyre. If most of your driving is on bitumen with occasional gravel, the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 is a better-balanced choice.
