Hyundai Santa Fe tyres are listed in six sizes across 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20-inch rims. One optional size has an XL load rating, so check the sidewall before you order.
Tyre Sizes That Fit This Collection
Factory sizes begin with 255/45R20, 235/55R19 and 235/60R18, followed by 17 and 16-inch sizes and an optional 255/45R20 XL.
- 255/45R20 tyres: factory fitment, 2006 onwards
- 235/55R19 tyres: factory fitment, 2006 onwards
- 235/60R18 tyres: factory fitment, 2000 onwards
- 235/65R17 tyres: factory fitment, 2000–2024
- 225/70R16 tyres: factory fitment, 2000–2006
- 255/45R20 XL tyres: also listed as a fit, 2023 onwards
Find the original size on the door-jamb placard, then match it to the sidewall marking, load index and speed rating. The 255/45R20 appears twice, once standard and once XL, so look for the XL marking. If you are unsure, find a store near you and a fitter will check it.
XL load rating and everyday comfort
An XL tyre is built to carry more weight at a given pressure. Where the placard asks for an XL, a standard tyre is not a safe substitute.
The 225/70R16 has the tallest wall and best bump absorption. For daily running, browse everyday driving tyres, and for long distance, highway tyres wear evenly and run quietly.
Pressure and heavy loads
Set pressures for the load you carry, using the higher figure beside the placard for a full load. Check them cold, since a warm tyre reads higher.
Rotate every 10,000km or so, and replace in pairs or full sets. Read the date code on each tyre when you collect new ones.
Tyre noise varies a great deal between brands in the same size, so compare the noise rating on the label as well as wet grip. A quieter tyre makes long trips more comfortable.
A fitter can also check the valves and rim edges while the old tyres are off.
Ask for tyres to be rotated at each service.
The sizes above apply to the Hyundai Santa Fe only. If you are also buying for another Hyundai, check Hyundai Kona Electric tyres, Hyundai Kona tyres or Hyundai Palisade tyres for the list that applies.
