Moto Metal suits truck owners who like gloss, chrome and milled detail, with around 200 wheels from $194. Most are 20-inch, and many are dual-drilled to fit two bolt patterns.

The Moto Metal styles

  • MO970: the most widely stocked style here, in gloss black with milled spokes, a milled lip, a red tint or a grey centre.
  • MO962: gloss black milled or full chrome.
  • MO998 Kraken, MO978 Razor and MO992 Folsom: bold modern spoke designs.
  • MO985 Breakout and MO986 Siege: gloss black machined or chrome.
  • MO810: a cleaner design in gloss black or black machined.

Dual-drilled patterns explained

  • 6x135/6x139.7: fits the F-150 pattern or the HiLux, Ranger and RAM 1500 pattern.
  • 5x127/5x139.7: Jeep fitments or the older 5x139.7 pattern.
  • 5x139.7/5x150: includes the LandCruiser 70 and 200 Series pattern.
  • Single 6x139.7 and eight-stud wheels: dual-cab utes and heavy-duty pickups.

A dual-drilled wheel still needs the right centre bore and offset for your vehicle. Check both before ordering.

Sizes and tyres

Most Moto Metal wheels are 20-inch, with 18 and 22-inch options and a few 16 and 17-inch sizes. Moving up from a factory wheel means a lower-profile tyre to keep the overall diameter close. Compare brands in 20-inch and 22-inch wheels.

Before you buy

  • Chrome and gloss show brake dust and scratches more than matte finishes. Clean them with a pH-neutral wheel cleaner.
  • Confirm the load rating if you tow, because big trucks put real weight on each wheel.
  • Check tyre clearance at full lock if your new combination is wider than factory.
  • Ask whether your tyre pressure sensors can move across to the new wheels.

Choosing a finish

Gloss black milled MO970s give contrast without the upkeep of chrome. Full chrome MO962s suit show trucks but need regular cleaning and are harder to repair after a kerb strike.

The gloss black machined Breakout and Siege sit between the two. Red-tinted MO970s add colour without a custom paint job.

Common questions

Will a dual-drilled wheel fit two of my vehicles?

Possibly, if both vehicles share a compatible bore and offset. The pattern is only one of three checks.

Are 22-inch Moto Metals good for towing?

They can be, but a low-profile tyre has less sidewall to absorb heavy loads. An 18 or 20 is the more practical towing size.
