Elite makes load-rated alloys for working utes and 4x4s, with 67 wheels from $228. Most are 17-inch, with 16 and 18-inch options, and every one is rated between 1,250 and 1,650 kg.
Which Elite design suits your ute
- Podium: the core of the range, in satin black, silver machined or bronze with a black lip. Start here for the most size and offset choice.
- Fusion: satin black, silver machined or anthracite with a black lip. A cleaner look for a dual-cab that doubles as the family car.
- Detroit, Chaotic, Weapon, Attack and Combat: smaller runs in satin black, gunmetal and machined faces, for something less common.
Bolt patterns and the vehicles they fit
- 6x139.7: about two-thirds of the range. Fits the Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-MAX and Mitsubishi Triton.
- 5x150: the LandCruiser 200 Series and later 70 Series.
- 6x114.3: the Nissan Navara D40 and NP300.
- 6x130 and 5x120: smaller runs for less common fitments. Check the listing against your vehicle.
A matching pattern is only the first step. The centre bore and offset on the listing need to suit your vehicle too.
Before you buy
- Offset. Elite runs from +40 to -50. Positive offsets sit close to factory. Deep negative offsets push the wheel out, can rub on full lock and may need flares.
- Load rating. Each wheel should be rated for at least half your heaviest axle load (GAR). Add margin if a canopy, drawers or a heavy towball load sits over the rear axle.
- Diameter. A 16 or 17-inch wheel leaves more tyre sidewall for gravel and sand. An 18 looks bigger but leaves less rubber to protect the rim.
- Your state's rules. Limits on wheel width and track changes differ between states, so check before going wide.
Common questions
Are Elite wheels good for towing?
Yes, as long as the rating covers your load. Ratings run from 1,250 to 1,650 kg per wheel, so pick one with room to spare once the van is hitched.
Can I keep my current tyres?
Often, if the diameter stays the same and the rim width suits the tyre. A wider Elite rim may call for a wider tyre, so check the tyre's approved rim range first.
