The Wildpeak AT4W from Falken is an all-terrain tyre for utes, 4WD wagons and SUVs that juggle weekday work, weekend tracks and long touring trips. Falken developed it from the Wildpeak AT3W with Australian conditions in mind, so it suits drivers who carry loads and cross rocky ground but still cover plenty of sealed kilometres. What Falken changed from the AT3W

Falken says the AT4W improves on its predecessor in three areas: tougher off-road durability, longer tread life and a quieter ride on the road. The goal is a tyre that copes with rock crawling and fully loaded touring without becoming tiring on a long highway stint. It is pitched at drivers who do a bit of everything rather than specialising in one surface.

Load builds vary by size

The AT4W range is broad, and the construction differs from size to size. Seven of the listings are extra load (XL) and nine are light truck or commercial (LT/C) builds, such as 205R16C, with the rest using standard metric markings. Before you choose, compare the load index and speed rating with your tyre placard, especially if your ute carries a canopy, a steel tray or a regular towing load.
