    2019 Porsche Carrera Cup Drivers

    2019 Porsche Carrera Cup Drivers

Together with Sonic Motor Racing Services we are proud to announce our 2019 Bob Jane T-Marts Porsche Carrera Cup Australia drivers.

Returning to the team will be talented drivers Michael Almond in car #77 and Jordan Love in car #777.

Michael Almond, who finished seventh in the championship standings last year, has taken a lot of positives from being with the Bob Jane T-Marts team. On their last race at Vodafone Gold Coast 600 last year he said, “There are a lot of positives to take away, we improved the car over the year and improved our consistency especially in qualifying. It has been an incredible year and I have really enjoyed being part of the Bob Jane T-Marts team.”

Now after their well-earned break, he has confirmed he will be reuniting with the Bob Jane T-Marts team for the 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup, “It is very exciting to be back driving the number 77 Bob Jane T-Marts Porsche in the 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup Championship.

“Working with Sonic Motor Racing in 2018 was brilliant, and to have the opportunity to continue the momentum into 2019 is a privilege.

“The combination of Sonic Motor Racing and Bob Jane T-Marts gives the iconic brand the best platform to achieve results, so I will be doing all I can to do the job right," Almond confirmed.

Jordan Love, who finished fourth in the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Championship in his inaugural year said there were plenty of highs and lows. “There were plenty of ups and downs this year but to finish fourth in my first year is still a very good achievement. It has been a fantastic experience and I hope I can come back and do better next year,” Love explained.

Fast forward to 2019, Jordan Love is now excited and ready to conquer the tracks this year. “I’m both extremely excited and fortunate to be given the opportunity once again in 2019 to be teaming up with Bob Jane T-Marts in the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship. After many highs and lows in my first full year in 2018 I’m looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead in 2019,” he said.

Carrera Cup has added the Townsville 400 to its 2019 race schedule; the addition will be the championship’s sixth visit to the Reid Park venue and its first Townsville round since 2015.

Townsville’s inclusion adds a fifth round to the series which will feature live on free-to-air television, joining other high-profile free-to-air events Adelaide 500, Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 500. The Townsville addition replaces the out-going Sydney SuperNight, which is not part of the 2019 Supercars Championship calendar.

The 2019 season will be the first time Carrera Cup will visit Supercars’ two northern-most events in one year, Townsville and Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway, and once again race at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and The Bend Motorsport Park.
